IDrive Apps is a new gallery showcasing software using EVS public APIs that integrate the speed, security, and efficiency of IDrive’s cloud with other software such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office. Developers such as Primadesk have made it possible for IDrive subscribers to access their data via their own application, opening up more options for users.
At launch, the IDrive Apps gallery includes:
- IDrive Connect for Google Docs – Make Google Docs look and act just like a regular folder on your Windows PC. This means that you can do things like drag-and-drop to download or upload, convert popular file types to Google Docs format, and even share files all using a convenient, familiar interface.
- Password Storage Vault – Store your online passwords in a single location, your secure IDrive account. These passwords will be encrypted with a private key, known only to you and no one else. Password Storage Vault can also auto-generate complex passwords for you; if you can access your IDrive account, you can access everything else.
- Microsoft Office Backup Plug-in – Protect your work in real-time! Save your Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents to your IDrive account as you work on them. Never lose a file due to a crash or other unexpected failure again. Plus, the plug-in makes it easy to restore up to 30 previous versions of any file you’re working on.
- Primadesk – Allows users to search, manage, and backup their personal cloud data, all using a single interface. Access all of your Internet services, including your IDrive cloud storage with a single login.
Built with developers in mind, EVS is a powerful, easy to use service that provides secure, encrypted and versioned cloud storage. Unlike other generic storage systems, IDrive EVS has storage encryption, versioning, and block level incremental transfers built in. This gives developers the freedom to create innovative applications to customize backup, storage, disaster recovery, and more that are highly efficient, scalable and require minimal coding. EVS was built, in house, from the ground up, for IDrive. These powerful APIs are freely available, making it easy to upload, retrieve, manage, and store data any time, from anywhere on the Internet.

IDrive Online Backup is available for home and server editions of Windows and Mac OS X and for mobile devices in the Apple App Store and Android Market.
